Supplier selection is a strategic decision in the nanopharmaceutical supply chain due to strict quality requirements, product sensitivity, and sustainability concerns. This study proposes a sustainability-oriented framework for evaluating and ranking suppliers in the nanopharmaceutical industry. Evaluation criteria were identified through a literature review and expert opinions, and their relative importance was determined using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Supplier performance was then assessed and ranked using the Fuzzy ELECTOR method. The results identified 46 evaluation criteria grouped into 11 categories. Among these, Quality and Compliance, Technical Capability and Innovation, and Specialized Nanopharmaceutical Features were the most influential categories. Compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements, the ability to produce complex nanostructures such as liposomes, polymers, and dendrimers, and product unit price emerged as the most critical criteria. The proposed framework successfully ranked candidate suppliers and identified the best-performing alternatives. The main contribution of this study is the development of a comprehensive 46-criteria framework for supplier selection in the pharmaceutical industry and the novel application of the Fuzzy ELECTOR method in supplier evaluation.
